Need to de-stress? Do you have difficulty relaxing or trouble sleeping? Can’t get those disturbed thoughts and emotions to calm down? Our hectic lives overwhelm our nervous systems—the daily barrage to our senses makes our bodies tense and our minds agitated. Over time, this can have a detrimental effect on our health. An ancient antidote is Yoga Nidra, or “yogic sleep.” It is a powerful technique to reach an extremely relaxed state of mind—highly alert, yet void of content.

Maya Yoga - The Art of Vinyasa Flow and Philosophy
with Nicki Doane
Are you feeling that something is missing in modern yoga today? Are you craving a practice that both honors and offers insights into you and your experience? A practice that is not focused solely on the poses, but also on the process of yoga as seen through the poses?
If you answered yes to any of the above, then this workshop is for you. Through Nicki’s experienced teaching of Maya Yoga, learn to make the connection between the alignment of the poses and the alignment of the mind. Maya is a Sanskrit word that means “illusion” and refers to what we think and perceive as real in this world. Patanjali, the original OG yoga psychologist said that the easiest way to access our psyche is through our physical tissue. The asanas(poses) are a means and a vehicle to transformation because they give us practical tools that we can use everyday in our yoga practice.
Through both Dynamic and restorative yoga practices Nicki will lead you through an experience of yoga in an intelligent, compassionate, supportive, and often humorous way that will leave you transformed.

Special Pop-up Class
'Yoga for Radical Acceptance'
with Danny & Melissa & Live DJ
Friday, June 21st
7:00pm - 8:15pm
Cost: Donation to Oasis Center
What is it all about?
June is LGBT Pride Month. To celebrate Pride and “Radical Self Acceptance,” Sanctuary is offering a pop-up donation class co-taught by Danny Brewington and Melissa Eltringham.
100% of all donations goes to a select organization which supports personal empowerment, generosity and cultural diversity.
What is Pride?
LGBT Pride Month is celebrated each year in June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots. On June 28, 1969, members of the New York City gay community, many of whom were transgender, united over the course of six days in spontaneous demonstrations against routine police intimidation and raids, overpowering them and inspiring activist groups to gather around the city, nation, and all over the world with a common goal of creating safe spaces for queer people to come together and be themselves – a concept unheard of in those days.
Through the practice of yoga, we gain clarity about ourselves through svadyaya (Self study), extend kindness toward ourselves and others, and develop greater awareness of the way we relate to the world around us.
Through the practice of yoga,
We are united.
We are one.
We are celebrating YOU - exactly as you are.
