Daphne came to yoga through her two passions - music and dance. In dance, she experienced movement as an expression of the soul. In yoga, she discovered an even deeper connection. Her diverse studies have enriched her yoga practice and shaped her own unique style of teaching which deeply honors the wisdom of the body. She teaches Prana Flow which is an energetic, creative, full-spectrum approach to embodying the flow of yoga cultivated by her Maha Teacher, Shiva Rea. Daphne is known for the fluid grace of her practice and the balanced nature of her classes which cultivate deep opening and rooted inner strength. Her fluid sequences and intuitive approach to unlocking the layers of the body help students open to the natural grace and depth of their practice.
Teaching since 2001 and registered at the ERYT-500 level, Daphne's inspiration has grown from her studies with many gifted teachers. For more than 12 years, she has studied extensively with Shiva Rea, whom she has been honored to assist in workshops and teacher trainings around the world. She also serves as a mentor in Shiva’s Samudra Global School of Living Yoga. Staying connected to her roots, she has created programs designed specifically for professional dancers and is proud to work with the Nashville Ballet. She keeps her inner fire burning by collaborating with musicians in spontaneous flow classes accompanied by live music.
In 2004, she co-founded Sanctuary for Yoga, Body & Spirit in Nashville, Tennessee with Tom Larkin. After 7 years, the original Green Hills studio expanded into a beautiful new space and a second location was opened in the Gulch. She and Tom co-created and direct a 200-hour teacher training program based at Sanctuary. Daphne has been featured in Fit Yoga, Woman's World, and a number of Nashville publications. She teaches classes, workshops, and teacher trainings in Nashville and around the country. She’s blessed to have a beautiful home and studios in Nashville where she is surrounded by all the things she loves - a loving partner, friends, family, four-legged family members and lots of inspiration!
